On another forward pass, Davis' great height enabled him to get the ball and he then punted 45 yards to Henry. After State's gritty leader recovered, Henry made a splendid, but vain attempt at a drop-kick from the 38 yard line, Davis kicked out from the 25 yard line and the ball was soon on Dickinson's 6 yard line. McCleary went through for 4, and then over for a touchdown. with every State man in the play. McCleary kicked goal, and the score stood State 6, Dickinson 0. Davis kicked off over the line to McCleary, who rushed back 25 yards. At this juncture Vorhis went in at quarter and Henry took Partridge's place at left half. McCleary punted 40; Vorhis mis judged the ball, but recovered it; a series of punts by McCleary and Davis took place at this point, the former having slightly the better of the duel. Here Tackle Harry of Dickinson was ruled out for dirty playing, and State given 30 yards. Gotwals took the place of Dunn at centre. McWilliams took Gotwals' place, and Zink for Hirshman.
