Directory There seems to be some misun derstanding about the College Direc tory in Room 273 Main. This di rectory has not as yet been gotten cut in book form, and is merely a part of the Information Bureau con ducted in 273. It is not infallibl as it contains the addresses .under which the students entered, and there have been many changes made since then. Any information regarding such changes will be appre ciated. The directory can be kept accurate only through the co-opera tion of the students. COLLEGE ORBIT. Princeton reports a scarcity of foot ball candidates, owing to the new rules prohibiting Freshmen from playing on the regular teams. Dr. Martin G. Brumbaugh, of the University of Pennsylvania, was re- cently elected superintendent of the Philadelphia Schools. The Department of Civil Engi neering- at Lehigh University has adopted the new style spellirig. at New Tobacco users and theatre-goers among the college students of Syra cuse University must pay full tui tion, according to an edict issued by Chancellor Day, the opening day of the term. •• ' - • • The Carnegie Institution at Wash ington has just issued a sumptuously printed and illustrated quarto, en titled "American Fossil Cycads " by George R. Wieland, State '93, of the Paleontological Museum of Yale University. This is by far the most important and creditable piece of work ever dqne by any graduate in natural history lines: It is, 'per haps, not too much to say that Dr Wieland's steady and persistent course through the Pennsylvania State College starting with the then B, preparatory class, has had some thing to do with the international reputation which, in the short period of thirteen years he has acquired.
