Dickinson Defeated in Track
Meet.
On Saturday afternoon, May 26,
State met Dickinson on Beaver
Field in the annual dual track and
field meet, and administered a crush
ing defeat to the collegians from
Carlisle, the final score being 86 to
18.
It was a splendid afternoon for a
meet except that a strong wind
blew up the home stretch and pre
vented fast time from being made.
State took the lead at the be
ginning, by winning both places in
the hundred yard dash. At no time
was there any danger of defeat, as
Dickinson did not secure one first
place, and got only six seconds. In
the field events State made a clean
sweep ; taking all the points. Two
men won the 'Varsity "S" in this
meet, Child in the low hurdles and
Montz in the broad jump. Dunn
broke the record for the hammer
throw with a distance of 128 feet,
8 inches. After the meet, the track
team elected "Hi" Henry, 'O7, cap
tain for next year.
The Dickinson fellows accepted
the defeat with good grace, having
better hopes for next year.

State Chooses Negative
State has chosen to uphold the
negative side of the question sub
mitted by Franklin and Marshall:
Resolved, That the fifteenth amend
ment to the constitution of the
United States should be repealed.
This debate will take place at Franklin
Marshall next fall, and it is hoped
that a large number of men will turn
out and try for a place on the team.
A Chapter of the Brotherhood
Started
After the confirmation and com
munion service held in the foyer of
the Auditorium Sunday morning at
9.30, Bishop Darlington initiated
fourteen men into the Brotherhood
of St. Andrew. This chapter grew
out of The Bishop Darlington
Church Club that was organized
about three months ago by Rev.
Mr. Brown, formerly of Bellefonte.
The charter for the chapter was re
ceived last week, and when the
Bishop, who is a Brotherhood man
himself, arrived, he consented to
conduct the initiation. The chap
ter's number is 1893.
