Mining Pepartment, The Department of Mining is in proportion to its importance by far the most neglected of any depart ment of our college. A stranger looking at its present quarters would probably think them the home of a country bottling works rather than that of scientific investigation and research. The old mechanical build ing which, when we came to college was situated on college avenue has been located near the site of the old College Inn, and is to be used for the same purposes as it was last year, the lower floor for mining design and the upper floor for mineralogy. A new frame structure has also been erected near by in which Mr. Linville will teach metallurgy. These quarters will be replaced in the future by a suitable structure for which plans have al ready been drawn up.
