Several years ago the game was very popular here. Perhaps it was just a fad. At a meeting of Mechanical Engi neering Society last Friday evening Hoffeditz, ’O5, gave an interesting talk on refrigeration machinery. As far as can be ascertained the championship for eating Easter eggs goes to Stout, ’O7; only fourteen at one meal and that at breakfast too. Several new tennis courts have made their appearance this spring; two in the vicinity of the track house, one at the K. 2 House, one at the 2 A E House and one up at the old Inn site. The students at Lafayette are ex ulting over the recent election of Prof. F. A March as mayor of Easton. State, however, has them beaten; “Lordy” has been mayor of State College for a long time. W. H. Kennedy, ’9B, was married at West Pittson on April the sixth, to Miss Elizabeth Carpenter of that town. Mr. Kennedy holds a posi tion as assistant resident engineer for the Illinois Central at Dubuque, lowa. Mr. C. W. Goodman, a former member of the class of 1907, made a short visit to his brother I. V. Goodman, ’O7, last Friday. Mr. Goodman has been employed in the passenger department of the railroad shops at Altoona since he left col lege. A large number of the members of Mechanical Engineering Society assembled last Wednesday evening at the Palace Restaurant for their last “feed” of the year. Instru mental and vocal music furnished by Sammy Hertzler and Si Johnson was very entertaining. The National History Club had a very interesting meeting last Wed nesday evening in the regular lecture rooms. While Miss Meek’s lecture on the subject of Quantitative Biology was the most important part of the program, an informal feed held afterwards, was the most interesting. At a meeting of the committee of Alumni on the Semi-Centennial Re union held April 14th at the Belle vue Statford, at Philadelphia, the final arrangements were made for Alumni Day and all the details were completed. The third and last cir culars to old students will be sent out in a few days. Alumni Notes, E. P. Liljegren, ’O4, has been spending a few days in town. B. F. Williams, '95, a Mining Engineering, of Wilkesbarre, was with us a few days last week. John C. Reed, ’99, formerly with the Pennsylvania Railroad Com pany is now in the electrical depart ment of the Pennsylvania Steel Com pany at Steelton. H. A. Robbins, ’9l, of the Brooklyn Heights Railway Company is connected with the designing and construction of the 50,000 H. P. power station in Brooklyn N. Y. George C. Shadd, ’OO, is Assis tant Professor of Electrical En gineering at the University of Wis consin. W. A. Smith, 'Ol, who is a mem ber of the Experiment Station force, spent Easter at his home in Philips burg. W. J. Dorworth, 'O4, has given up his position with the General Electric Co., at Schenectady, and accepted a better one in Fort Wayne, Indiana. H. C. Kittredge, ’O4, has left a postition in Allentown to enter the employ of the Armstrong Cork Co., at Pittsburg. E. B. Norris, 'O4, has left E.
