Prof. W. C. Thayer is expected to arrive to-day, and will be the principal of the Fernandina public school for the coming term, instead of Prof. Fulks. Prof. Thayer, who holds a 53,000 chair in the Lehigh (Pa.) Univer sity, having a year’s vacation, was anxious to spend the winter South, and was an applicant for the school for the coming term with that pur pose in view. He will be accompanied by his family, and they will make their home at Mr. Dotterer's who is an old friend of the professor’s. Prof. Thayer was the head of the State College Studio. Department of Modern Languages in this institution from 1890 to 1895. He resigned to accept a similar position at Lehigh Univer sity.
