Mcllveen pitched such a good game at Fordham that State won from St. John’s by a score of 5 to 4. He was given the best of support. Huber was at his old trick of nailing 'base run- The third game was with Manhattan at Jasper Oval. Here State was defeated by the score of 9to 1. Landis made the run and Sharpe had three two-base hits. Villa Nova had her revenge by the score of Bto 7. According to reports the game was a duplicate of the one at State College. The next defeat in line came from Dickinson, where State was beaten by a score of 3to 2. It was a hard fought game, in which both pitchers, Mcllveen and Savidge, were very effective. This game on Saturday, May 9th, ended the State defeated Villa Nova on the home grounds Saturday, May 2d, in a brilliant base ball game. It was the most exciting game at State College this year.
