Adopted by the Association, June 9, 1903. —The Junior civil engineers, with Prof. Walker in charge, took their summer school work in hydrographic surveying at Williamsport and Eagle’s Mere, remaining about a week at the latter place. The members of the party are Prof. Walker, Messrs. C. L. Armsby, Bwier, Bryson, Campbell, Considine, Gearhart, Hoblitzell, Leitzell, Kittredge, E. K. McDowell, Musser, Saunas and Yoder. All members of the party report an enjoyable and instructive trip. “Willie” Yoder in particular deserves mention for some strictly original experimental work which he carried on with the gas engine of the Eagle’s Mere pumping station. Hie has developed the surprising and unlooked-for fact that if you hold 'a dirty white P. S. C. cap over the air intake to a gas engine, said gas engine, after sucking in said cap, can be repaired with only three hours’ work. Mr. Yoder gave a practical demonstra tion of this important principle at the Eagle’s Mere pumping station. Any one desiring further enlightenment upon the sub ject of gas engines would do well to consult Mr. Yoder. College Miscellany.
