—The annual inspection of the battalion for the year ending 1903 took place Saturday, June 6. The cadets showed themselves off in fine form. Capt, Lawton is to be congratulated on his suc cess with the boys. —The competition drill came off Wednesday, June 10th. The prizes competed for were a sword and banner for the best drilled company; a sword .for the company next in proficiency, and a medal for the cadet best in the manual of arms. Company A, S. E. Miller, captain, won the banner and sword; Company D, D. B. Tuholski, captain, won the sword, and Cadet Creese won the medal. The prizes were presented by Miss Helms, of Roanoke, Va.
