In the second half Varsity Lee was the star g'ainer, two long 1 runs of about fifty yards each being - chalked down to his credit, —one of them taking - the belli to the Normal’s five yard line. The Normal here held Jack’s team and obtained the ball. A punting - duel followed by which Normal gained twenty yards. Then State started her tackles gaining - and soon Keifer went over for the second touchdown. “Billy” Yoder electrified all by kicking a beautiful goal. The game ended soon after this. In the evening the management gave a banquet to the boys. To say these boys, who for ten weeks had taken their daily rubs from the Varsity, enjoyed it is stating the fact mildly. This game ended the football season for State —a season successful for both teams not only in scores but financially. Freshman—Sophomore Game. The Freshman-Sophomore game will be played Satur day, Dec. 14. Jno. D. Elder is captain of the Sophomore team and A. L. Smith of the Freshman. Our prospects for a successful basket ball season are very fair. The appearance of a large squad of candidates on the first nights of practice is an indication that the com petition for positions on the Varsity will be close. As yet little can be said of the players, but it is safe to say that there are many indications for the development of a strong and fast team. So far seven games have been scheduled, with several more under consideration. A full schedule will appear in the next issue of the Free Lance. Our athletic relations with Lehigh have grown very friendly, as is shown by the fact that during the year she has not only favored us ip base- Basket Ball.
