Here State stopped scoring and Lehigh took a turn at
making runs. In the eighth inning de Schweinitz made a
three bagger scoring, Reese who had gotten first on balls.
In the ninth inning Lehigh got two men on bases. Person
made a home run hit over the fence, bringing in three runs.

State 11 — West Chester Normal 4.
On May 17th State played the West Chester Normal
team at West Chester. A large crowd witnessed the game,
which was a fine sample of snappy ball playing; particularly
upon the part of the State boys. The State boys as well as
the Normal boys had followers to cheer them on, for Cap
tain Sharp hails from West Chester, and old friends were
anxious to see his team win. Sharp pitched a good game,
and, in addition, handled the stick well, having a home run,
a triple, and a single to his credit. Rohrbach made three
singles and a double. State had but one error, which was
