College Miscellany. Pittsburg's aggregation of stars was considerably sur prised by the game put up against them by the White and Blue. State was weakened in the kicking department by the absence of Martin, but played well in defense, getting the ball several times on downs and three times compelling her opponents to kick. The locals put in a number of fresh players to relieve those who became tired, while State play ed through the twenty-five and twenty minute halves with out making a substitution. The first touchdown was made by Bird after twelve minutes of straight hard foot ball. State’s best gain, when Whitworth circled right end for 25 yards, followed immedi ately. Later Duquesne secured the leather and advanced it to State's 4 yard line. Here Captain Scholl’s men made a plucky stand and gained the ball on downs. State made 3 yards through center, but an unlucky fumble gave the Pitts burgers their second score. Again in the second half Duquesne lost the ball on downs on State’s 4 yard line. Ruble kicked to Pratt, who after a short gain, kicked a goal from the 15 yard line. In the remainder of the half the locals made some pretty end runs which gave them two more touchdowns and made the score 0-29. The line up:— d. c. & a. c. Steen Uffenheimer... Roller FOOT BALL.
