The February issue of Mines and Minerals contains a description of the Seinet-Solvay By-Product Coke Plant at Dunbar, Pa., by W. L. Affelder, '99. The lecture by Dr. A. B. Riker has been postponed from Jan. 25th till near the first of March on account of the Doc tor's illness. Prof. M. C. Ihlseng read a paper, on the "Geological Relations of Soils in Pennsylvania," at the annual meeting of the State Board of Agriculture, held Jan. 24th. Prof. G. C. Watson and Asst. Prof. H. Hayward repre sented State College at the first annual meeting of the Penn'a Live Stock Breeders' Association held in Pittsburg Jan. 25th and 26th. State will send a team to University of Penna.'s Relay Race, having been placed in the second class which consists of Cornell, Columbia, Lehigh, Lafayette, .Penn 'a State Col lege and Georgetown. Arthur McKee is located Pittsburg Engineer. M. E. McDonnell spent Feb. W. P. Smiley is employed as chemist at Buffalo., N. Y Street Plant. J. F. Glosser, was married in Philadelphia on Dec. 27th, to Miss Anna Dußosq. Mr. Glosser occupies the position of Inspector with the Central Union Telephone Company in Mansfield, Ohio.
