for a successful season are anything but dim, and in spite of a a large schedule of games, many of them with the most prominent eastern college teams, we need have no fear for State this year. Unless appearances are very deceptive, the base ball season will be as great a credit to the players and to the institution as was the foot ball season of the past fall. Captain Johnson can pride himself on having a better array of candidates to choose from than any other captain has had for a number of years. Never have we had such a number of good men to fill the positions, especially the positions on the battery. We hope to be able to record as many brilliant successes for the base ball team as we had the pleasure of recording similar successes for their predecessors on the grid iron.
