STATE, 12; CLOVER W.HrtuLmEN, 10. jtiDGING from the size of the audience whose cheers greeted our team and that of the Clover Wheelmen of Philadelphia in the Armory on January x3th, the lapse of a year has in creased, if anything, the enthusiasm of the students and faculty in the game of basket ball. We regret, though, that, owing to the fact that the visiting team, had been accustomed to playing tinder a different code of rules than that used by our team, the progress of the game was so often delayed by fouls. In spite of this feature, the game was an exciting and interesting one from Start to finish, especially because the score was at all times close. Our team had one less field goal to its credit than the visitors had, Mit Stevenson's excellent handling of the ball when attempting to throw for goals from fouls more than made up this difference. The honors of the ganie were divided between the two captains, Stevenson and Fisher. Wilt also played a very good game for the visitors. The line-tip was:— Stale (12). Stevenson (Capt. ), Pearce. Buckhout. Lockwood, Ruble. Referee—Dr. Newton. timpires—Affelder, State; Kleinman, Clover Wheelmen. Timekeeper—P. B. Breneman, State. Time of halves-20 and 15 minutes.
