ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT ON Thanksgiving Day, State ended what has been her most glorious foot ball season since she first put a team on the gridiron. True, in other years she has had teams which were a credit to the institution, but never before has she had one that has made such records as did the one thisyear. After a lapse of seven years she can again claim the State Inter-collegiate championship. On the 24th of September State opened the season by defeating Gettysburg by a score of 47 to o, and on the 24th of November she closed the season by defeating Dickinson by a score of 34 to o. Meanwhile four other victories had been won. Lafayette had been defeated by a score of 5 to o; Bucknell, 16 to o; Washington and Jefferson, I i to, 5; and Susquehanna, 45 to 6. Our defeats too, with the exception of the 40 to 0 score of U. of P. whom we met too early in the season, and the x 6 to ir, score of Annapolis, reflect credit upon us for Priceton defeated us by a score of but 5 to o, and D. C. and A. C. by 18 to 5. To us belongs the distinction . of being the only team that has scored against the latter team this year, and against us the former scored less points than against any other team, excepting West Point, against whom Eire points were also scored. The following table of the results of this year's games com pared with those of the three previous years emphasizes the excellent showing made by our team this season : State vs. Gettysburg.
