Seattle, has recently been made president of that institution.
79. J. W. Heston is now president of the South Dakota Agri
cultural College, at Brookings.
'BB. J. C. Hickman, who has been with the Cleveland Rolling
Mill Company as chemist for the past five years, recently ac
cepted a better position of the same nature with the Thomas Fur
nace Company, of Niles, Ohio.
'B9. Miss Elizabeth Meek has re-entered college and is taking
a post-graduate course.
Mr. James Foster, of Sheffield, Alabama, has presented his re
port of U. S. armor plate manufacture to the U. S. Naval Board.
'9l. Thomas A. Gilkey, a draughtsman in the employ of the
Keystone Bridge Company, of Pittsburg, was married on Decem
ber 3oth to Miss Jennie A. Nesbit of Mt. Jack Son, Pa.
'93. Geo. R. Wieland has another article on the " Origin of
Pennsylvania Silicieus Mite " in the October number of the
American Journal of Science. He thinks it was formed as basins
of hot springs or geysers in the calciferous epoch.
'94. H. P. Dowler is installing an electric plant for I. A.
Mitchell & Co., at Hastings, Pa.
'95. Thomas R. Cummins is working for the Illinois Central
Railroad Company, at Cherokee, lowa.
'95. H. C. Peffer was married at Natrona, Pa., on December
29th to Miss Mary C. Rebhun.
'95. S. F. Herr is in the draughting department of the Ft.
Pitt Bridge Co., at Aspinwall, Pa.
'96. Geo. M. McKee, formerly with the Geo. H. Friend
Paper Co., now has charge of the Sulphite Mill of the Hinckley
Fibre Co., of Hinckley, N. Y. W. H. Teas, '97, holds the posi
tion of superintendent of the Sulphite Mill of Friend & Co., va
cated by Mr. McKee.
'96. W. U. Snyder is assistant master mechanic and steam ex
pert at the Shoenberger Steel Co., Pittsburgh, Pa.
