A reception was given at the home of Prof. and Mrs. Garver, Monday evening, March xo, in honor of the Senior class. A very pleasant evening was spent by those present. Prof. and Mrs. Louis E. Reber tendered the Senior class and the engineering faculties a reception, Saturday evening, March 14. The reception was pronounced a very enjoyable affair. At a meeting held Thursday, March 19, the Class of '9B elected its La Vie board. The board consists of the following members : A. L. Bailey, Editor-in-Chief; J. H. M. Andrews, R. T. Strohm, C. A. Brown, C. B. Nesbit and L. L. Ansart, Assistant Editors; W. P. Cochran and Clay Sprecher, Business Managers; J. S. Al bert and W. H. Owens, Artists. A large magic lantern has been placed in room twenty-one of the engineering building. It is for the use of all the engineering departments and will be of great value in class-room work and lectures. The curtain on which the pictures will be thrown is well balanced and works very' nicely. The windows will have blinds so arranged that by the mere pressure of a button they can be raised or lowered. The lantern has an arc light and hence is capable of throwing a very good picture upon the screen, The first public rehearsal of the State College Choral Society was given in the College Chapel, Friday evening, March 20, The society is under the leadership of Professor H. H. Stoek, and their singing speaks well for that gentleman's abilities as a musi cal director. Every number on the programme received hearty applause and several encores were responded to, The programme was as follows: r.
