Mr. Armstrong, of Dickinson, gave an entertainment in the College chapel on the evening of November Btli for the benefit of general athletics. The play will be given under the auspices of The Free Lance. The geology class, under Prof. Ihlseng, has been taking excur sions every Saturday to points of geological interest in this vicinity. The places visited this term are Penn’s Cave, Waddles, Pine Grove and Scotia. On Sunday evening, November 3d, Rev. Fred. J. Stanley, who has spent a number of years as professor in one of the universities in Japan, preached in the College chapel, his subject being “ God’s Footsteps in the Occident and Orient.” The talk was a most interesting and instructive one and gave the hearers some idea of the almost incredible progress of the Japanese in recent years.
