Gassier has recently accepted a position with the Edison General Electric Co., at Chicago, Illinois. '9o. W. H. Haley, who has been the assistant in the Chemical Laboratory since last September, has accepted the place of assistant Chemist at the Experimental Station. Prof. LouiS H. Barnard, head of the Depart ment of Civil Engineering in this institution, sails for Europe on the Cunard steamer, Umbria, on the gth instant. He expects to spend about six months abroad in travel and study, partly for needed rest and partly in the interest of his de partment.
