attendance was so unusually small as to necessitate
the senior class drawing heavily on their own
treasury to make up the deficiency in finances.
The drill hall was plainly, though artistically
decorated, with a few flowers, military ; accoutre
ments, flags, and navy and white bunting and
pennants.
Dancing began promptly at 8 p. m., and lasted
until i ; the music behig furnished by Stopper and
Fisk's orchestra, of Williamsport. At about io
o'clock light refreshments were served upon the
stage, during which time the orchestra rendered
several fine selections. The patronesses were Mrs.
Orvis and Mrs. Ilaitiags, of Bellefonte, Mrs.
H of Tyr,m.e, Mrs. Holt, of Philipsburg,
and Mr 3. Jackson anal Mrs. Sparks, of State
College.

The forfeiting of the game. by Dickinson to
State College caused a great deal of disappoint
ment not only among the students, but among the
people of Altoona and surrounding towns,who had
arranged to see the game.
So much thw was taken up by the first team in
the League games this fall that it was impossible
to play any clais games. thi3 is to he lamen
ted because it is the 1.):,‘3t milli of bringing ont
new material for next season.
A new Tactics has been issued which is to re
place the old one and is quite an improvement in
many ways; some new exercises being introduc:
ed and a good many old ones left out which
should have been done away with long ago.
On Friday evening, Nov. 13th, the Methodist
church gave a chicken and waffle supper in the
rooms occupied by the Delmonico Boarding Club,
from which they realized quite a good sum of
money. These suppers are alway enjoyed by the
students, the only trouble being that they are too
few and far between.
Ydle University has dropped about twenty-five
per cent. of the freshmen in the Scientific Depart
ment, making the present size of the class in that
department one hundred and ninety-eight.. The
excuse given is a desire to raise the standard, look
ing toward a four year's course instead of three
which is now in vogue.
