The yield is so large in tome localities of Minnesota) that owners of threshing machines are offering to thresh out tho product of eotne fields for the ex cess over thirty bushels an acre. The usu ul rate is one tenth. The are calcula ting on a yield of over thirty-three bushels per acre. The committee on farms of the State Agricultural Society of Wisconsin, have made a careful estimate, from which they set down the wheat crop of Wisconsin for the year lSO'J at twenty-tico vuiuuna oj lushcU. This will probably exceed the crop of any other State in the Union. In 1850 according to the census, the heaviest wheat growing State was Pennsylvania whose crop amounted to 15,307,09 1 bush els. The crop ot Wisconsin in that year was 4,286,131 bushels. Tor a compara tively young State, the crop estimated for tho present year is amazing. Some years ago a young man, Mr. A., represented a town in this State in the General Assembly. As he was returning from the session, in company with Dr. S., also a representative, the following dia logue took place : "1 believe, Dr. S., I was the youngest man there was in the House." "Yes." (A pause.) "I guess I was the youngest member that has ever been in that House." "Ah!' "How old, Dr. S., do you think I am?' 'I should think you to bo about a doz en or fourteen." Peeling Potatoes. All the starch in potatoes is confined very near the surface; the heart contains but little nutriment. Ignorance of this fact may form a plausi ble excuse for those who cut off the thick parings in preparing potatoes for mashing, but none to those who know better. N APERIENT and stomachic prepa J ration of Iron purified of Oxygen and Carbon by combustion in Hydrogen. Sanc tioned by the highest medical authorities, both iu Europe and the United Stutes, and prescribed in their practice. The e.vperience of thousands daily proves that no preparation of Iron can be compared with it. Impurities of the blood, depression of vital energy, pale and otherwise sickly complexions, indicate its necessity in almost every conceivable cute. Innoxious in all maladies in which it has been tried, it has proved absolutely curative in each of the following complaints, viz : Jn Debility, Xcrvous AJfectiont, Emaciation Dyspepsia, Constipation. Dicrrhaa, Dysiritcry. Incipient Consumption, ScroJ ulous Tuberculosis, Salt Ilheum, JLsniettstruation, Whites, Chloro sis, Liver Complaints, Chronic Headaches, Rneu malirm, InfrrmiUtnt Fevers, Pimples on tin Face. etc. In cases of General De:;ility, whether the result of acute di.-easer, or of the continued. diminution of nervous and muscular energy from chronic complaints, on trial of this re storative has proved successful to an extent which no description nor written attestation would render credible. Invalids so long bed ridden as to have become forgotten in their own neighborhoods, have suddenly reappeared in the busy world as if just returned from pro traded travel in a distant h.nd. Some very signal instances of this kind are attested of female sufferers, emaciated victims of appa rent marasmus, sanguineous exhaustion, crit ical changes, and that complication of nervous and dyspeptic aversion to air ar.d exercise for which the physician bus do r.i-me. In Xfncits Affection of all kinds, rnd for reasons familiar to incdicalir.cn, the opcr.itioi: of this preparation of iron must ncce.-.-iwiiy be salutary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vigo rously tonic, witiiout being errciling and over heating; anil gently, regularly apeiin.t, evei. in the most obstinate cases of costiveness, without ever being a gastric purgative, or in flicting a disagrealde sensation. It is this latter property, among others, which makes it so remarkably effectual and perma nent a remedy for IUt, upon which it hlso appears to exert a distinct mid specific action, by uispersit.g the local tendency which forms them. In Dyspepsia . innumerable as are its causes, a single box of these Chidbonte Pills has of tcu sufficed for the most habitual cises, inclu ding the attendant costiveness. In unchecked lnarrltn a , even when advanced to Dysentery, confirmed, emaciating, and appa rently malignant, the effects have been eoually decisive and astonishing. In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength, di bilitnting cough and remittent hectic vl.kh generally indicate Inripitut Coi.sur-jttioti. this remedy lias allayed the rb.rm of" friends ni.t't physicians, in several very gratifying and in teresting in.-i.mce. In Scrofulous Tuberculosis this medicated Iron lias had far more than the good effect of the most cautiously balanced preparations of iodine, without any of their well known lia bilities. The attention of females cannot be too con fidently invited to this rem-ily and restorative. in the cases peculiarly effecting them. In Rheumatism, both chronic and infiamato ry in the latter, however, more decidedly it has been invariably well reported, both as alleviating pain and i educing the swellings and stiffness of the joints and n.uscles. Iu lut jiitittnit 1'ivtrs ilmust necessarily be a great remedy and energetic restorative. :;nd its progress in the new settlements e f the West, will probably be enc of high renown and use fuli. ess.
