To Quench Thirst. During the warm
weather most persons get very thirsty, ow
ins? to various causes, and in consequence
frequently drink such large quantities of
water as to make them feci uncomfortable
and yet be dry. To prevent such uncom
fortable feelings, it. would be well for all to
resort to some pleasant and harmless bev
erage to allay thirst. For this purpose we
know of nothing better than the cold and
sparkling soda water that flows from the
fount in A. I. Shaw's drug store. All
should give it a trial and be convinced of
the truth of the recommendation.

A. Cai.dwf.li., 1w., of Pike township,
aged 47 years, 8 mouths, 16 days.
During his illness, of about ten weeks,
Mr. Caldweli's patience and Christian res
ignation were remarkably manifested ; and
the many sympathising friends that gather
cdarouud his couch and followed the bier,
bore ample testimony to the estimation in
which he w.i s held as a neitrhb'or and citi
zen. Ills generosity won him a piaee in
the hearts of the poor, ind his integrity
insured the respect of the wealthy. II is
death leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Last January he connected himself wiji the
M. E. Church in Curwensville, and died in
the triumphs of a living faith and the hope
of a blissful immortality. II.
