During the warm weather most persons get very thirsty, ow ins? to various causes, and in consequence frequently drink such large quantities of water as to make them feci uncomfortable and yet be dry. To prevent such uncom fortable feelings, it. would be well for all to resort to some pleasant and harmless bev erage to allay thirst. For this purpose we know of nothing better than the cold and sparkling soda water that flows from the fount in A. I. Shaw's drug store. All should give it a trial and be convinced of the truth of the recommendation. Ax Act to Protect Timber Lands. Doth branches of the Legislature having passed the following bill it is now n law.
