SYKES, (olllce 1.,41 Penn street, Pitt - It/ugh) notice with
much pleasure the above card of Dr. S. S. Fitch, of Nee York,
and feel it to be their duty also to CALI:IOU the invalid pub
lic against impositions which seem doily increasing. Re
cent developments in New York, of the frauds practiced by
"old Dr. 11. Jambi," the "retired physician, whose sands of
Life have nearly run out," and of "Dr. Thicaa Brunt," and
others, seem to render It a more suitable time than usual,
to eapoa• such rricSery, and vindicate our own character;
and it is the more incumbent upon Ile to do au, inasmuch es
the opinion prevalla that the dish, usety is confined to the
eaateru cities; —so far from this being true there are stores of
Itinerant, doctors In this and the Slatea farther West, ash
literally rob itivalida, net only of their money, but of their
very lives, for they prevent them from procuring proper
treatment in time.
Most of these traveling doctors take advantage of the pre.
valent but enormous belief that lung disease can be cured by
irthalati ; and either profess t, be connected with our
selves, (seals oven having assumed our very names,) or conic
eastern physician of great repute, or else with some Mr oft
(and ms Neal) Hospital or Univtzeity ; and invalids In their
earnestness to regain health forget to examine proof,• and
ranitsqf treatment, but are persuaded by bare easertions to
place their health and lives in charge of incompetent and
unprincipled men.
We have for some time loe , m shrinking from this unpleas
ant duty, but can do 93 no longer, Mad trust this card may
be the means of saving some from being deceived.
In conclusion, it Is proper to repeat, a] we have so often
done formerly, THAT Wit HAVE NO PftESENT CONNEO.

Pa ;r. 0. J. Wood—Door Sir :—I have heard much said of
the wonderful effects of your Hair Restorative, but having
been so often cheated by quackery and quack nostrums,
hair dyes; &c., I was disposed to place your Restorative in
the same category with the thousand and one loudly trum
peted quack remedies, until I met you in Lawrence county
some mouth.: niece, when you gave 1119 inch assurance as
induced the trial tf 3 oar Restorative in my family—first by
my good wife, whose hair had become very thin and en
tirely white, and before exhausting one of your large bot
tles, her hair was rfatored.nearly to its original beautiful
brown color, and bad thickeled and become beautiful and
glossy upon, and entirely over the head; she continues to
use it, not simply because of its beautifying effects upon
the hair, but because of its healthful influence upon the
head and mind. Others of my family and friends aro using
your Restorative, with 4he happiest effects herefore, my
skepticism and doubts in reference to its character and
value are entirely removed; I can and do and moat cor
dially and confidentially recommend its use by all who
would have their hair restored from white or gray (by rea
son of sickness or ago,) to original color and beauty, snd by
all young poisons who would have their hair beautiful and
glossy. Very truly and gratefully yours,
SOLOMON MANN.
Fateao WOOD: It was a long time after I saw yon at
Blisetleld before I got the bottle of Restorative for which
you gave me an order upon your agent in Detroit, and when
I got it we concluded to try it on lire. Mann's hair, as the
surest test of its power. It has dons all that you assured
me it would do; and others of try family and friends,
having witnessed its effects, are now using and recommend.
