CALVIN if. FITCH. g J,MIN W. SYKES, (olllce 1.,41 Penn street, Pitt - It/ugh) notice with much pleasure the above card of Dr. S. S. Fitch, of Nee York, and feel it to be their duty also to CALI:IOU the invalid pub lic against impositions which seem doily increasing. Re cent developments in New York, of the frauds practiced by "old Dr. 11. Jambi," the "retired physician, whose sands of Life have nearly run out," and of "Dr. Thicaa Brunt," and others, seem to render It a more suitable time than usual, to eapoa• such rricSery, and vindicate our own character; and it is the more incumbent upon Ile to do au, inasmuch es the opinion prevalla that the dish, usety is confined to the eaateru cities; —so far from this being true there are stores of Itinerant, doctors In this and the Slatea farther West, ash literally rob itivalida, net only of their money, but of their very lives, for they prevent them from procuring proper treatment in time. Most of these traveling doctors take advantage of the pre. valent but enormous belief that lung disease can be cured by irthalati ; and either profess t, be connected with our selves, (seals oven having assumed our very names,) or conic eastern physician of great repute, or else with some Mr oft (and ms Neal) Hospital or Univtzeity ; and invalids In their earnestness to regain health forget to examine proof,• and ranitsqf treatment, but are persuaded by bare easertions to place their health and lives in charge of incompetent and unprincipled men. We have for some time loe , m shrinking from this unpleas ant duty, but can do 93 no longer, Mad trust this card may be the means of saving some from being deceived. In conclusion, it Is proper to repeat, a] we have so often done formerly, THAT Wit HAVE NO PftESENT CONNEO. TION WITH DR. S. e. FITCH, OR WITH ANY OFFICE IN NEW YORK. DRS. CALVIN M. FITCH ! JOHN W.
