Mr. Darsie spoke of the eiteuoastanee that Direc

thought the precedent bad, and offered the following
resolution :
?esolred, That it is the sense of this meeting that
the Directors of this Company should not secure any I
compensation for services, other than for necessary
expense incurred in the legitimate discharge of their
official duties, unless with the consent of the stock
holders, given at a regular meeting or a special meet

Remoleer?, That it is the sense of this meeting that
no Director of this Company should ho appointed to
hold any office of profit in the same, other than the
President or Treasurer especially if such office
should have been created, or the emoluments thereof
established or increased, by the Board of Directors of,
which he may he a member.
Mr. Ca.ss explained in regard to the $5 per day.
Only two of the Directors desired to receive it, and
they had come from a distance. Ile thought it best
to fix the compensation before hand, as large claims

given to stockholders, by the charter, by which they
could prescribe the amount of compensation to direr

gave their time for the best part of the year should
do so for nothing. The stockholders, at their an

HOLLAND BITTERS
ELECTRO-CHEMISOFIE AROMA
Echt Hollandech Kruiden Bitters.
rrwo YEARS have elapsed since the intro
duction ofille valuable mall- tie into the United States
During this time it has seine! anieerral poputorffy na
remedy for
Ryer and .Ague, DyspepstY xligestien, Headache,
Loss of Aetite., &Ably, Owthierwa,
Blind and Bleeding Piles.
Many of our most worthy citizens testify to its wonderful
efficacy in all affictiona of the stomach and liver. As a
tonic, it never has been equalled, for the relief It affords in
all amen of debility or weakness of any kind is almost in
stantaneous. In nervous, rheumatic and neuralgic rifler>
Cons, it hue in unmet:ono Instances proved highly beneficial,
and in others effected it decided cure.
When eminent physicians prescribe, and their patients eo
unhesitatingly recommend, surely we may cease t doubt,
and eagerly test its virtues for ourselves.
FEVER AND AGUE.
A (Ism of Eight Hemths' Standing Cured by Boerhaiss Hol
land Bitter[.—Michael Kelly, No. 117 Grant, near Smithfield
street, says "Last Jnly, while running on the river, on a
cotton boat plying between Natchez nod New Orleans, I was
taken with fever and ague. For eight long menthe I suffered
with this dreadful disease. The greater part of thin time I
was unable to work, and spent at least fifty dollars for elf.
ferent medicines,
but I found no permanent relief. Three
weeks ago , ono of my friends initiated upon my trying Boer
have's Holland Bitters, saying that a cure was guaranteed.
After taking it for one week, I must state I was a sound
man. I have been at work now for two weeks, and have
had no return of the chills and fever whatever."
I certify the above statement is true.
TIIOXAS ADAMS, Diamond Homo,
Or at IL Cheater's, Gothic Hall.
TIEADACHE AND DEBILITY.
Mr. Silos Lioa,mh, of Birmingham, says: "I have found _
in Beverhave'a Bitters a remedy for headache and debility.
My wife has also used it with the greatest benefit."
Mr. A. S. Nicholson, of Pittsburgh, also remarks that he
has experienced much relief from Its use for headache.
BEAD THIS!
A HolLander's Testimony.—Jacob Ririakes, living in the
Holland settlement of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, says: "After
suffering for some time the misery attending an utter proa
tendon of . qmind and body, I have been restored, by toting
Boerhave's Holland Bitters, to perfect health."
The fact of this remedy being in such high repute among
the Hollanders in Wisconsin, Michigan, New York—in fact,
in every Holland settlement in the United States—argues
much in its favor.
STRENGTH AND HEALTH RESTORED.
Mr. John Davidson, living ten ladles above Pittsburgh, on
the Pennsylvania Canal, says: "When I commenced taking
Boerlutve's Holland Bitters, I could hardly walk—now, I
enjoy excellent health."
WEAKNESS OP TICE STOMACH AND INDIGESTION.
Another Great Care Effected by Boreherres Holland Bitters.
—The wife of Peter De Witte, living in Holland Town, She
boygan county, Wisconsin, suffered mach from weakness of
the stomach and indigestion. She had been ander a physi
cian's care for some time. but the disease seemed to baffle
even his skill. She purchased some Holland Bitters et our
office, which has given tone to her stomach. her appetite and
strength are returning, and we firmly believe that this Is
another great cure effected by your medicine.
We have still to record many vronderfnl cures effected by
this remedy, tent must wait another opportunity. One thing
you can rely upon, what we have published are from persona
much respected in our community, and are literally true.
J. Qtruerus,
Editor Sheboygan Nieuwbode, Sheboygan, Win.
EILEITMATIS3I.
A Case of Two Months' Rending Cured by Boer/tare's Hol

suffering for three menthe with rheumatism—a pert of the
time so severely as to online me to nay bed—l have been
entirely anvil by Wing Boerhave's Holland Bitters. I have
bad one attack since, but found almost lUtttal31.31100113; relief
in the same medicine. It is, an my opinion, a sure remedy
for rheumatism."
NEI3.VOCIS AND 1111ECIUATIC AFFECTIONS.

INVIGORATING CORDIAL,
A PIiENOMENON IN MEDICINE.
Health Restored and Life Lengthened
MORSE'S INVIGORATING ELIXIR.
IT WILL replace weakness with strength,
incapacity with efficiency, irregularity with uniform and
natural activity, and this not only without hazard of reac
tion. but with a happy effect on the general or,,anization.
Sif Bear in mina that all maladies. wherever they begin.
finish with the nervous system. and that the paralization of
the nerve of motion and sensaikm is phyaipal death. Bear
in mind, also, that for every kind of nervous disease, the
Elixir Cordial is the only reliable preparation known..
No language can convey an adequate idea of the immedi
ate and almost miraculous change which It occasions it the
iii4essed, debilitated and shattered nervous system, whether
broken down by excess, weak by nature, or impaired by
sickness—the unetrung and relaxed organization is at once
braced, revivified and built up. The mental and physical
symptoms of nervous disease vanish together under its influ
ence. Nor is the effect temp - emu; for the Cordial properties
of the medicine reach the constitution itself, and restore it
to its normal condition.
Cunfusion, giddiness, rush of blood to the head, melancholy,
debility, hysteria, wretchedness, thought of selfalestroction

ty, nervotemess, Inability to sleep, disease incident to males,
decay of the propagating functions, hysteria, monomania,
vague terrors, palpitation of the heart, impotency, constipa
tion, etc., from whatever causes arising is, if them be any
reliance to bo placed on human testimony, absolutely infal
