of the stockholders of the Pennsylvania Railroad
was hold in Philadelphia on Motley. The attend
ance was quite large. The tuinual report was read
by the Secretary.
The following is an al,-tract of the most important
portions of the report :
One hundred and thirty-six miles of the second
truck of the road have been finished and put in use:
51 miles of the new track are east of Altoona, and 89
miles west of that point; SO miles upon the Eastern
Division. and 31 miles of the Western, are yet to be
lain. It is expected that a very considerable portion
of the remaining work will be completed during the
coming summer. The branch road to Indiana will
be ready for business in the course of a few months.
There are now in use upon the road, 118 locomotives.

baggage cars with mail apartments: 9 do without
mail apartments; 1170 eight wheelot house freight

The number of passengers conveyed between liar•
risburg and Pittsburgh was equivalent to 147,480
passing over the whole length id the road.
