NOTIIER PROOF of the e@cacy of Dr. Click j23,. ner's Sugar Coated Pills in removing worms from children. Read and be convinced. - This isio certify that my child Eliza, between five and aux years of age, having been for along time past drooping, and getting much worse of late, neither myself nor my wife being aware what was the mat ter With-her ' I thought perhaps one of Dr.Clickner's pills might du her good—leave her one at bed time, _which acted on the bowels and expelled a Tape worm four feet long, and a great number of worms, (over one hundred) about oue inch long apparently of the. same species. I have always been much opposed to advertised Medicines, but through the advice of a friend who strenuously recommended them to me, I was induced 'to try them, and it was througlL the great benefit I derived from their use in, my complaint, that I felt 'disposed to, give a dose to my daughter, although I knew not then what was the matter with her; and I 'verily believe that had not the worms been dischar ged, she would not have survived to the present time. She commenced rapidly to improve and is now quite hearty and . . WILLIAM COOPER. Croghansrilk, near Pittsburgh, Jiily 16, 1846. THIS fact is clearly demonstrated wherever we have a sudden change in the weather. it is at this time that the seed of Consumption is sown in the system nurtured until the Lungs become serious ly and dangerously diseased, when in all probability the patient, for the first time, will begin to seek re lief. How many thousands thus neglect theniselyes hnd suffer their Health, and finally their Life to be destroyed. The first preceptible foot-prints of CON SUMPTION, experienced at sudden changes of the weather, are Hoarseness and Cough, Soreness of the Throat, and Irritation of the Bronchi. Pain in the Head, Coldness of the feet, and Sudden Chilliness 'over the Body. At length the cough increases, and finally prostration and languidness of the whole sys tem fidldws, which indicate a sudden decline of Health, and the speedy approach of ConsumptiOn. the facts, plain as they, appear to every sensible perSondo not, however, seem to alarm those afflicted, until it may be to late,. It is therefore of the great est importance for those who may be attacked from ate iffBcts of sudden changes in our atmosphere to at on c procure DR. DUNCAN'S Celebrated Expecto rant Remede, thegreatest preventive and Life guard of CONSUMPTION, and the only certain medicine that will remove disease and again restore the LUNGS to their former Health. It is said! that in con sequence of this movement on the ;part of the CaliforniaS, the ()dicer in command of the Ameri can squadron had hoisted the flag of the United States on this portion of the Mex:lcati territory. "Vice Admiral 'Seymour had proceeded to the! Southward for the purpose. it was said, of collect ing his squadron, and ,we should imagine that a collision must be almost inevitable." . Lewis Cass. [Kr Their virtues are so infallible that the money , will be returned iu all cares they do nut give univer sal satisfaction. Although but two and a half years have elapsed since these celebrated Pills were first introduced to the public, the sale of them in the Eastern and middle States has far exceeded Dr. ilickeners most sanguine expectations. During the past year, alone, no less than 10,000 gross of boxes bate been sold in the State of New York, 0,000 in I Pennsylvania, 4,000 in Maryland, 3,000 in New Jer- I v , 2,000 in Delaware, and 9,000 in the New England Staten, requiring the constant employment of 27 hands, exclusive of printers and engravers. In, the same period, upwards of 200,000 conies of the I "F:tinily Doctor" been ordered by agents in, every section of the evuntry. These facts must , show, conclusively, that Dr. Clickener's Sugar Coat- I ed Pills, besides being the Very best medicine in' the world, are held in the highest estimation by the public. I We might extend this publication to an indefin- ' rte length, if we deemed it expedient to publish all tersimorna, we, hate received, not oaly from agents but individuals and families, who have experienced the benficial effects of Clickener's Sugar Coated Pills, but we deem it unnecessary. The most in comestible evidence of their unprecedented success, are the numberless Imitations and Counterfeits which have already appeared, notwithstanding the brief pe riod they have been before the public. Even sonic of our staunchest pill makers have had the audacity t,i imitate the Capsule of Sugar, in order to disguise the ingredients of their vile compounds, and palm them off for the "real simon pure." Such paltry shills cannot last lung without exposing their hideous detlarmity. Truth and honesty must inevitably pre vail over rascality and deception. For sale in Pittelmrgh by WM. JACKSON, at. his Palen! Medicine Warannae, No. 69, Liberty street, head of Wood st., Pittsburgh. Price, 25c. per box. Dr. Clicke tiers principal °dice is SI Barclay street, New York. STE It Err NIL 1 N Ilsrkrt If trent Beware of an imitation article called im proved Sugar Coated Pills, purporting to be patented, as both the pills and the pretended patent are for geries, got up by a miserable quack in New York, who, Air the last four or five years, has made his living by counterfeiting popular medicines. Crir - Remember, Dr. C. V. Clickener.is the original inventor of Sugar Coated Pills, and that nothing of the sort was ever heard of until he introduced them in June, 1543. Purchasers should, therefore, always ask for Clickener's Sugar Coated Vegetable Pills, and take no other, or they will be made the victims of a fraud. mar rpnE WILSON PILLS, as a remedy peculiarly adapted for headaches and dyspeptic affections, are pretty generally known and esteemed in this community; and the proprietor, so often as he has occasion to write or speak of them, can scarcely re frain from an expression of his grateful acknow•letlg ments to his friends for their patronage and kindness to him. His feelings are the warmer from observing the "beginning and the ending"—thlown almost in juxtaposition—of so many nostrums add kindred pre parations equally loud in their pretensions, and much more industriously presented •to the public; while his preparation noiselessly advances, even to remote places, soothing and comforting the afflicted, and permanently gralting itself upon the affections of new friends, thus continually widening the circle of its usefulness. Although well satisfied that his medicine has, as it were, a principle of perpetuity in it, yet he is obliged to his friends for the most sub stantial evidence of the fact. In its natural history, if you please, the Wilson Pill differs from most other preparations in not being originally made-for sale, or with a - view to pecuniary profit; while 'as every body knows, the greatest tyro (as a general thing) no sooner begins to dabble M drugs than he casts about for some cheap prepara tion, or must 'get up,' as the phrase is, something ' anythingthat will sell. Often he attempts it under an assumed or fictitious name, as though conscions his own were insufficient to sell it. The difference then between the Wilson Pill and the preparations:l have just indicated, would appear to he this: The consciousness of the value of my pill originated the idea of putting them on sale for money, and at I price. The consciousness of the value of money . originates in most instances the many preparations I have alluded to; and the price most likely 'to take' is always first carefully considered, and the . pill or other preparation made and graduated to suit it. The one is a DISCOVERY, and comes from the great Arcana of Universal• Nature; the other a trick or invention, and comes from a not very popular quality.of hum- VIDUAL Nature: Reader! the difference here is great. In one instance the value attached to thermt is the starting paint; in the other, the MONEY. But it is not probable that sonic of the many prepara tions having even such paternity were accidentally good, but that possibly by this process of "getting up" as they call it, by puffing and brdwing, as we clean' wheat, they have been "got up" too high be fore their specific gravity had been carefully ascer tained, and have blown off never to be heard of, 'with other chaff—some lighter, some heavier. Whatever may be the rationale, l must repeat it, that I am most profoundly thankfu to my friends f'or their discrimination in notconsigning my discovery to ' that compenduous category of "inventions that did not answer"—of "tricks that won't win.." The Wilson Pills are useful as a Ottvtitit.'reipedy, and may be kept and taken, in groper doses,'in fam- Hies, as a preventative of general ill'health, , or dis ease of whatefer name, by any member of the fam ily, without any fear of the consequences of expo.: sure in the ordinary pursuits, of business. n - They may always be had in any quantity of the proprietor, in Penn street, belowliarbury, and of the principal Druggists of this city and Allegheny. jy22-dtkw7in • of prime, picked Sicily Lemons; for ff c l i l ale by tjeISTFE & O'CO-NNER.
