SUDDEN CHANGES.
i The Illother of Consumptions.
isp_HS fact is clearly demonstrated wherever we
have a sudden change in the weather. It is at
; time that the seed of Consumption is sown in
'the ; sysitein nurtured until the Lungs become serious=
ly and dangerously diseased, when in all probability
the (patient, for the first time, will begin to seek re
lief, How many thousands thus neglect themselves
and suffer their Health, and .finally their Life to be
'destroyed.' The first preceptible foot-prints of CON
SUMPTION, experienced at sudden changes of the
weather, are Hoarseness and Cough, Soreness of the
Throat, and Irritation of the Bronchi. Pain in the
114(1, Coldness of the feet, and Sudden Chilliness
over the Body. At length the cough increases, and
prostration and languidness of the whole sys
teak follows, which indicate a sudden decline of
Ileltlth, and the speedy approach of Consumption.
Th 6 se facts, plain . as they appear to every sensible
pet!sondo not, however, seem to alarm those afflicted,
until- it may be to late. It is therefore of the great
est importance for those who may be attacked from
thq effects of sudden changes in our atmosphere to

Introduced to the public, the sale of them in the

hay e been sold in the State of New York, 6,000 in
Pennsylvania, 4,000 in Maryland, 3,000 in; New Jer
sey, 2,000 in Delaware, and 9,00 Q in the NeW England
States, requiring the constant employraent of 27
hands, exclusive of printers and engravers. In the
same period, upwards of 200,000 copies of the
"Family Doctor" have been ordered by: agents in
every section of the country.' These facts must
show, conclusively, that Dr. Clitkeners Sugar Coat-

world, are held in the highestestimation bythe public.
We might extend this publication to an indefin

the benficial effects of Click enees Sugar Coated
Pills, but we deem it unnecessary. The most in
comestible evidence of their unprecedented success.
are the numberless Imitations and Counterfeits which
have already appeared, notwithstanding the brief pe
riod they have been before the public. Even sonic
of our staunchest pill makers have had the audacity
to imitate the Capsule of Sugar, in order'' to disguise
the ingredients of their vile Coinpounds; and palm

shifts cannot last long without exposing their hideous
deformity. Truth and honesty must inevitably pre

NEVER DESPAIR—You can he cured!
_ laimainrsvittn, (N. J.) June 10; IS-16
Dr. D. .T.tvrcz, INo. 8 south Third street, Philade3
pfila.-Dear Sir—l have this day had an interview
with the gentleman of whom I made mention to you
as having taken your Expectorant with such decided
effect.' He is a respectable farmer, living a few miles
from here. I was so much interested in a detailed
accountlhe gave Me of his cough and cure, that 1
embrace the firstliesure moment to communicate it
to you, and if the, cure is as radical as it appears to
b.', it is ,the most remarkable one I have ever known.
For 32 years (after haiiing, the measles) he has been
suffering with a Cough of the most distressing kind,
getting worse as he advanced in years; (he isnow Oa.)
Frequent terms of coughing and diffiCulty of breath
ing, lasting front an hour to an hour and a half,
would genie upcin him with such severity as to ex
haust him, with ! strangling until his eyes became
bThodshot. Ile had despaired of being cured, har
ing tried physicians and a thousand things without
relief. For nil - it iweeks immediately previous to his
taking the' xpectorant, he had not been able to 'go
to his barn, althciugh there was the most urgeht ne
cessity for him to do so.
Dating the nine weeks he was under the care of
an eminent Physician, and he finally got just able to
go out and carnet° my store, and, hearing his cough,
I recommended to him your Expectorant. He first
said he had tried; so many things MM. he had no con
fidence in any thing; Mit I induced him to take a bot
tle by telling him of persons of my acqiiaintance who
had been decideply bete it'A by it. This Was on
Tuesday; that night lie took of it, and says that it was
the first comfortable night's sleep lib had enjoyed
for years. On the Thursday following lie went to
work, bncl has continued ro make a full hand on his
farm ever since,!(now nearly two months.) He told
me to-day that for the last week he had cat and split
a hundred rails, 'or made 100 panels of fence per day;
has been in the ;water to wash his sheep, and other
wise exposed, Without the least symptom Oa return
of his cough, it having entirely disappeared, and,
strangest of all,;one third of a bottle has Produced
the effect. He Seems so thankful and overjoyed that
he wants to talk all day about it," and says that if
lie could not procure another bottle, he would refuse
$lOO tbr the remainder of the bottle he has left.
Your Carmiiiitiveßalsom I have used or recom
mended to others for the- last ten year, with the
most salutary effect. Kespectfully yours

in appearance, caused, in eight cases out of ten, by
the atmosphere; and what persons suppose disease
of the blood, is simply a disease -of the skin: If
some of the thousands who take purgative medicine,
pills, and useless Sarsaparilla, were to use on their
skin a softening and clearing balm, that opens the
pores, whitens the skin, and causes a healthy perspi
