This is to certify that my child Eliza, between five and six years of age, having been for a long time past drooping, and getting much worse of late, neither myself nor my wife being aware what was the mat ter with her,l thought perhaps °neer Dr.Clieltnees pills might o her good—l gave her one at bed tittie, which acted on the bowels and expelled a Tape worm four feet long, and a great number of worms, (over one hundred) about one inch long apparently ' of the same species. I have always been much opposed to advertised medicines, but through the advice of a friend who strenuously recommended them to me, I was induced to try them, and it was through the great benefit derived from their use in my complaint, that I felt disposed to give a dose to my dattghter, although I knew not then what was the matter with her; and I verily believe that had not the worms been dischar ged, she would not have survived to the present time. She commenced rapidly to improve and is now quite hearty and well. Croghontville, near l'ittaburghauly 16, 1846. The !Mother of Consumption• rrHIS fact in clearly demonstrated wherever we I have a sudden change in the weather. It is at this time that the need of Consumption is sown in the system nurtured until the Lungs become serious ly and dangerously diseased, when in all probability the patient, for the first time, will begin to seek re lief. How many thousands thus neglect themselves and suffer their Health, and finally their Life to he destroyed. The first preceptiffle foot-printsof CON SUMPTION. experienced at sudden changes of the weather, arc lloarsanesn and Cough, Soreness of the Throat, and Irritation of the Bronchi. Pain in the Head, Coldness of the feet, and Sudden Chilliness over the Body. At length the cough increases, and finally prostration and languidness of the whole sys tem follows, which indicate a madden decline of Health, and the epeedy approach of Consumption. These theta, plain as they appear to every sensible persondo not, however, seem to alarm those afflicted, until it may be to late. It is therefore of the great est importance for those who may be attacked from the effects of sudden changes in our atmosphere to at on e procure DR.. DUNCAN'S Celebrated Expecto rant lienzedy, the greatest preventive and Life guard of CONSUMPTION; and the only certain medicine that will remove disease and again restore the LUNGS to their former Health. Dr, Dnnean's Great Western Office is opened in Cincinnati at 150 Sycamore street, a few doors below sth, where his Medicines can be obtained in large and small quantities. 11'22. Lewis Cass. in — Their virtues are so infallible that the money will be returned in all cases they do not give univer sal satisfaction. Although but twoand a half years have elapsed since these celebrated Pills were first introduced to the public, the sale of them in the Eastern and middle States has fax exceeded Dr. Clickener's most sanguine expectations. During the past year, alone, no less than 10,000 gross of boxes have been sold in the State of New York, 6,000 in Pennsylvania, 4,000 in Maryland, 3,000 in New Jer sey, 2,000 in Delaware, and 9,000 in the New England States, requiring the constant employment of 27 hands, exclusive of printers and engravers. In the same period, upwards of 200,000 copies of the "Family Doctor" have been ordered by agents in every section of the country. These facts must show, conclusively, that Dr. Clickener's Sugar Coat ed Pills, besides being the very best medicine in the world, are held in the highest estimation by the pUblic. We might extend this publication ttf an indefin ite length, if we deemed it expedient to publish all tersimonials we have received of only from agents but individuals and families, who have experienced the benficial effects of Clickener's Sugar Coated Pills, but we deem it u nnecessary. The most in comestible evidence of their unprecedented success, are the numberless Infitations and Counterfeits which have nlready'appealed, notwithstanding the brief pe- . nod they have been before the public. Even Sotric of our staunchest pill makers have had the atidieity to imitate th 6 Capsule of Sugar, in order to disguise the ingredients of their vile compounds • and priltn them Mr for the "real Simon pure." Such paltry shifts cannot last long without exposing their hideous deformity; Truth and honesty must inevitably pre yail rascality and deception. Fdr sale in Pittsburgh by WM. JAYNE, No. 8 south Third street, Philadel phia.—Dear Sir—l have this day had an interview with theigentleman of whom I made mention to vou as having taken your Expectorant with such decided effect. He is a reapectable farmer, living a few miles Iron here. I was so much interested in a detailed account he gave me of his cough and cure, that I embrace the first liesure moment to communicate it to Tau, rimed* the cure is as radical as it appears. to be; it is the most remarkable one 1 have ever known: For 32 years (after having the measles) he has been suffering' with a cough of the most distressing kind, getting worse as he advanced in years; (he, is now 51) Frequent terms of coughing and difficulty of breath ing, lasting from an hOur to an hour and a half, weal& eerie upon him, with such severity as to ex haust hiin, with strangling until his eyes became bloodshot. He had despaired of being cured, hail ing tried physiCians and a thousand things without relief. For nine weeks immediately previous to his taking the Expectorant, he had not been able tego to his barn, althouglilhere was the most urgent ne cessity for him to doiso. During the nine weeks he was uilder the care of an eminent Physician, and he finally got just able to go put and came to my store, and, hearing his cough, I recommended to him your Expectorant. He first said he had tried so many things that he had no con fidence in anything; but I induced him to take a bot tle by telling him of persons of my acquaintance who had been decideply bencdtis d by it. This was on Tuesday; that night he took of it, and sacs that it was the first comfortable night's sleep he had enjoyed for jlears. On the Thursday fdilowing he went to work, and has continued ro make a full hand on his farm ever since, (now nearly twlci months.) He told me to-day that for the last week he had cut and split a hundred rails, or made 'lOO panels of fence per day; haii been in the water to wash his sheep, and other wide expoied, without the least symptom of a return of his cough, it having entirely disappeared, and, strangest of all, one third of a bottle has produced the effect. He seems so thankful and overjoyed that he ! 4 wools to talk all day about it," and dayS that if he coulifsnot precure another bottle, he would refuse .411 W for the remainder of the bottle he has leff. - Your carminitive Balsom I bare used or recom mended to others for the last ten year, with the moat salutary effect: Respectfully yours, .. jell,• JOHN H.
