Some of those now in possession of those distinguished nurserymen are ten feet high. • • • * The selection of GREEN-lit/USE exaters is valuable and extensive. "The Nurseries are very correctly managed, sup plying every part of the Union, a detail of which would occupy too much of our. space, we therefore content ourselves with statin; that the stock is very large, and in every stags of .mroortrit.l. TR.E.ES, LI ER— GREENS, SHRUBS. , VINES AND CREEPERS, with a collection of herbacceous plants, fruit trees of the best kin'', and most healthy condition, large beds of seeding apples, pears, plums, &c., as stocks for bud ding and, and. grafting; a plan very superior. to that of working .upon suckers, which carry with them into the gralt all the diseases of the parent stock. • * "C;MIDEN Srs.ps of the finest quality have been . scattered over the country from these grounds, and may alwoys be depended upon. The seed establish ment of these Horticulturists is one of the most ex tensive in the Union, and its reputation is well sustain ed from Year to rear. "To obviate the chance of mixture of the farina of the plants of the same family . , they have established another nursery at a suitable distance, so that degene ration cannot take place, and which secures to the purchaser a 'genuine article.' Knowing thus the age, quality and process of culture of every filant,, the supply - from their grounds is recommended with great confidence." ••• Since the date of the 'Report' from which the above is extracted, themntiro establishment has been greatly enlarged. The collection of Camellias em braces all the finer kinds, and consists of some thou sands of various sizes; so likewise with Roses, and other desirable plants, both tender andluirdy; fruit trees, 8:c. The Seed Gardens alone cover fifty acres, and the whole is, as it has been for more than half a century, under the successive management of father and son, the most prominent in America. - Orders received by F. Seven Thousand cases of obstinate Pu/monary Coln, plaints cured in one year! We ask the attention of the candid tol l a few con siderations. Nature, in every part of her works, haS left indeli ble marks of adaptation and design. The constitution of the animals and vegetables of the forest, is such that they could not endure the cold of the frigid zone, and vice Vega. In regard to diseases and its cure, the adaption is more or less striking. 'The Moss of Iceland, the Wild Cherry and Pines of all Northern latitudes (and "Dr. Wtorna , s BAL SAM'? is a compound chemical extract from these,) have long been celebrated for complaints prevalent only in cold climates. Indeed the most disttnguished medical men have averred that nature furnishes in every country medicines for its own peculiar diseases. Consumption in its confiamed and incipient stages Coughs, Asthma, Croup and Live! Complaint form by far tha most fatal, class:fa diseases known to our land. Yet even these may be cured by means of the simple yet powerful remedies (named above) and which are scatteretA, by a beneficient Providence, ismuirirevouratextmrauxesprovum7- --7--- ANOTHER ASTONISHING CURE! WIETAR'S BAISAIt OF WILD CHERRY, always trium phaut! cure follows cure in its onward victorious career! Mirrort, Feb, Iltb, 1845. J. W. Whitmore.—Dcar Sir: As youare the reg ular authorized agent in Dayton, for the sale of "Dr. Wistars Balsam of Wild Cherry," I take this meth od of making a statement of facts to you (which I hope may be published to the world) in reference to an almost miraculous cure wrought in my case by means of the above /nraluabte Balsam. Language fails to describe the salutary effects it pro duced, and the great benefit I derived from its use. The citizens of Dayton and vicinity, well recol lect that on the Btll of August last, I received seri ous injury from the explosion of a cannon. A por tion of its contents entered my right side and breast; and in all probability, some fragments or splinters of the ram-rod passed through the "plura,"aud pierced the Lungs. Alter the lapse of about six weeks, I was attacked with a distressing cough and a violent pain in my right side. Some ten days after this when in a par oxysm of coughing, suddenly and tax= broke, and a large quantity of very offensive matter, mixed with blood, was discharged; most of which found passage through the opening of the wound. From this epening there frequently passed a quantity of air, supposed to issue from the lungs. During all this time my sufferings were almost intolerable. My physicians, meanwhile paid the strictest atten tion to me, and did all in their power for my rocov ery. But with all their skill they could not reach the seat of distress, after the Lunge had become affect ed. 1 was visited durilig this time by at least itcenty Physicians. - It was now reduced to a certainty, that infitimation of the lungs was rapidly taking place; and that this would terminate my life in a very short time, was in the highest degree probable. At this critical stage, a messenger was despatched to Cincinnati, and a celebrated Physician of that place was consulted. When he was made acquaint ed with my situation, he remarked that nothing could be done by medical aid, if the constitution itself was not sufficient to throw off the disease. My friends now despaired of my recovery, and I had no earthly ground of hope to survive many days. Fortunately at this juncture, I saw one of Dr. Wis tar's Pamphlets, entitled "Family Medical Guide," or "Treatise on Consumption of the Lungs." As I had often heard of dying, men "catching at straws," I felt this doing so myself. By the consent of my Physicians, 1 sent to you for a bottle of the medicine described viz: "Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry," which relieved me almost immediately. After( I had used some five or six bottles I so far recovermfas to be up and about. My cough ceased, and my lungs were restored to a healthy state--all from the heal ing and balmy influence and powerful medicinal vir tues of "Victors Balsam. Were it not from the external injury I received in my shoulder and arm by the explosion, I feel confi dent that I might have been working at my trade (which is blacksmithing,) but this has prevented. By exposure, have since taken several severe colds, and my only remedy has been "the balsam) , And I now most cordially recommend the genuine Wistar's Balsam to all who are afflicted with Colds, Coughs, or Lung Complaints. I consider it an inval uable medicine---a real blessing to the world. Any person desiring further information, may- call on me any time, yours truly, CHRISTOPHER R. SMYTH.
