Whiltaore.—DearSir: youare the reg ular authorized agent in Ihrton, frzr the sale of "fir. Wistars.lialsam of Wild Cherry," 1 take this meth od of making a statement of ilia:: to you (which hope may be published to the world) in reference to an almost miraculous cure, wrought in my ease by means el the above Invaluable Balsam. Language thils to describe the salutary effects it pro &teed, and the great benefit I derived from its Use. Th.' citizens of Dayton and vicinity, well recol- . leet that on the SDI of August lost, 1 received seri 031i injury from the csplosloll of a cannon. A por tion of its contents entered in:: 4 right side and breast; and in all probability, some fragments or splinters Of ; the ram-rod passed through the "plum," and pierced the Lungs. After the lapse of about six weeks, I was attacked with a distressing cough and a violent pain in my right side. Sonic ten days after this when in a par oxysm of coughing, suddenly and VLCER broke, and a large quantity of very offensive matter, mixed with blood, was discharged; most of which amid pas.ige through the opening of the wound. From this opening there frequently passed a quantity of air, supposed to issue from the lungs. During all Min time my sufferings recce almost intolerable. My physicians, meanwhile paid the strictest atten tion to me, and did all in their power for my recov ery. But with all their skill they could not reach the seat qj distress, after the Lungs had become q(jci•t ed. - I wan visited during this time by at least t wendy Physicians. it was now reduced to a certainty, that infigmation of the lungs was rapidly taking place; and that this would terminate my life in a very short time, was in the highest degree probable. At this critical stage, a messenger was despatched to Cincinnati. and a celebrated Physician of that place was consulted. When he was made acquaint ed with my situation, he remarked that nothitig could be done by medical aid, it' the constitution itself was not sufficient to throw oft' the disease, My friends now despaired of my recovery, and I had no earthly ground of hope to survive many days. Fortunately at this juncture, I saw one of Dr. Wis tar's Pamphlets, entitled "Family Medical Guide," or "Treatise on Consumption of the Lungs. , As I had often heard of dying men “catching at straws," I felt this doing so nlysell: Dv the consent of my Physicians, I sent to you for a bottle of the medicine described viz: •• Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry," which relieved me almost immediately, After had used some Live or sin bottles I sofa,' recovered as to be up and about. My cough ceased, and my lungs were restored to a healthy state—all from the heal ing and haling influence and powerful nedirinal vir tues of Wistar's Balsam. Were it not from the external injury I received in my shoulder and arm by the implosion, I feel confi dent that I might have bees working at my trade (which is blacksmithing.) hut. this has prevented. Bv exposure, I have since taken several severe / colds, and my only remedy has been "the balsatig." And I now most cordially recommend the genuine Wistar's Balsam to all who are afflicted with Colds, Coughs, or Lung Complaints. I cousider / it an inval uable medicine—a real blessing to the / World.
