This is all very well, end the people of the west generally will favor the project proposed, if it is not designed to defeat the apple cation of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road Corn. pany for right of tray to this city. The people of this city, so far as we hire been able to ascertain their views, will not be in:loci - iced by %elfish motisrs; they believe that Ole interests of the slate 'sill he beat pro moted by giving the penple of every tecrion of the CoMMMDA calth the pri..ilcgc of ct,tising .ueit improve ments as muy be deemed nrresaury to enable them speedily and cheaply to reach a market with the rro ducts of 0 . 1%4 fields—their wort:shops—their furnaces —their forces, and their manufactories. lit hiving I this to be the true policy of the stare, they will in I Rood faith co with those who fawn the continuous i Rail Road; they will alto lend their friends in the north, favorable to the Sunbury and El ic. and New • York sod F, ie Rail Roads, a helping hand. We can• no, believe that the Legislature will again refuse to grant the Baltimore and Ohio Roil Road right of w o Pittsburgh. There it one eonsidrra•ion which a e think should he borne in mind by the friends of the continuous ;onto as well as by the friend. of the Sr,. bury and Erie, and that ht, that on j•tdiciou Ca pit uliat will take any considerable amount of oriels in either of the 'lads named, if ill.
