FURTHER MILITARY MOVEMENTS We learn that the sth and Bth regiments of infan try, and two companies of artillery, have received or ders for Texas. We yesterday announced thd 7th in fantry and three companies of dragoons had received similar orders, and the sth and Bth had been ordered from posts at the north, to Jefferson barracks, and the posts now occupied by the 7th. The arrival of one order so fresh upon the heels of another, and the rap id increase of our force in Texas, show that our gov ernment is alive to the importance of the crisis, and is preparing fcr any emergency. N 0 Jef Rep, Aug 16: From the N 0 Piravune, Aug 16 STEAMERS FOR TEXAS. The steamship John S M'Kim has been chartered by the U States_ and left last evening for Galveston, with important despatches from the government. The steamship Alabama has also been again char tered by the United States, and will leave for the bay of Arkamins on Wednesday, the 20th instant. The high-presure steamboat White Wing, Captain Goodrich. has also been chartered by our government to proceed to Aransas, to take the place of the Un dine, which draws too much water. Mexican Items.—in saying yesterday that the pro positions of the Mexican Minister fora loan of $15,- 000,000 had not been acted upon by the Chamber of Deputies, we intended to say that they had not been acted upon finally. We had before us a paper con taining their proceedings on the 30th ult., which rela ted wholly to this loan. The committee to whom the minister's project had been referred, made their re port, which concluded with acceding to the minister's demands, under certain restrictions. These are not of great moment, hut may be of some interest just now. The committee recommend that the loan should he either national or foreign, or both; they would lim• it the rate of interest to be paid to six per cent; would allow no loan from which less than one million in cash should he realized by the treasury. and would carefully provide that no bonds, secured by pledge of the public revenue., should be issued before the whole nominal amount of them should he actnnlly received into the treasury in cash. Those familiar with Mex ican finance will readily see the drift of this last re int iction. It is unnecessary to enter further into this suhject till the final action of the Chamber is known. The attack of Senor Bores upon the government,l which lend to so many rumnrs of a chlnge of minis try, was made on the ‘29th ult.. upon his introduction of the initiative of Zecnteras fur the re-establishment of the constitution of 1324. He demanded urgently the removal of the present ministry. El Jalapeno of the 3d inst states that the assembly of the department of Vera Cruz voted unanimously for Gen Herrera for the presidency. An Anglo Mexican association has proposed to eon struet a railroad from Vera Cruz to the capital. nod theno- , to one of the ports on the Pacific—either Aca pulco, Mazarillo, or San Blass. The road would have branches to Puebla and other capitals of the depart ments. The acsembly of the department of Mexico hap put-- re,r the purl-rove of fl palace, the magnificent hout , e of Gen Herrera, for $86,000. Arrived.—ThP type and press upon which CRAAilli M Clay printed his "True American" in Lexington, arrived in the city yesterday morning. They were consigned to MPf SrA January & Taylor. by the "sixty committee men" who so modestly and legally took them in charge. This is a great world. CiPI Eng', Aug 23.
