John Shea, Robert Bell J. ibirton, CirOir outside form contains some interesting hit ilitaing flatter. PARADE.—The parade of the Firemen of Pittsburgh and Alleghen) cities, on Saturday after noon was a 'very attractive spectacle.. The fire on Wi ley greet, which occurred about 12 o'clock, was very jot= spoiling their afternoon's display, as most of the • twines and apparatus that had been burnished up for the parade were promptly taken to the fire; but in a short time the flames were subdued. A little addition al labor soon made them look as fine as ever, and at the appointed hour all the companies, we believe, were at the place of rendezvous. The uniforms of the seversl companies were ez tretnelyLiasteful and neat; great order and decorum erasobserved in the prncossion, end altogether it was adleplay highly creditable to the Firemen of our city. We endeavored to note the uniforms of the di6•rent companies, and we believe they wet e about as follows: Eagle--White pants, green frock coats, red capes, green bets. Allegheny—White pants and shirts, black cap end belt. Vigilant—White pants and ted shirts, blue cap, and black belt- Nia gt a—Drawn by banes; white pants. red shirt 4: bearing a banner with a view of the great fans from which they derive their name. Wallington—White dress, blue hats, belt and star; banner of Washington. TV. Ptnit—aine pante, check shirts, black belt. Uncle San—White pants and shirts, Mack caps Neptune—White pants and shirts, blue hats This Company bore n beautiful banner, which hnd been presented to them by the ladies, previous to their parade. Clipper—Blue pants, white shirts, Kilmarnock cups. Duquesne—White pants 91H1 Shirts, glazed cnps and belts. Fistx.—A fire broke out on Saturday last, about 12 o'clock, M., in Algeo's carpentet's shop, on Washing toe, near Wylie street. The shop was consumed, and a small frame house adjoining was partly betted, and lathes-aims much injured. The firemen exerted them selves nobly, and succeeded in preventing the fire , which Wise time looked very nlarming, from splysti ing. At this fire, as at all others, there was sad scenes and scenes that were laughable. A woman, sick of R fatal disease, WHO carried out of a house in the vicini ty of the flames. We have not heard whether she suffered from exposure and hasty removal. A man was on the roof of a house with about a peck of salt, distributing it very judicolisly, in order to producethe-beat effect—whether it was this salt that saved the premises we do nut know—but he cut a lu dicrous figure shaking his little bit of salt over the dry. hot shingles. THEATRIL.-The- Theatre ban been re-npenrd for three nights only, in order to give our citizens en op portunity to witness the wonderful performances of the Infant Sisters. They are indeed astonishing chil dren—they dance with surprising grace and skill, and their singing, &c., surprised and delighted the audi ence. The performances of the Scotch Piper, Mr Fcrtottants, is an attractive feature of the entertain ment. fle plays the Scotch Pipe with great skill, hut it is upon the Trish instrument that he excels. Like the famous piper of the song, "Sosweerly he handles the drone, 'Twould have melted the heart of a ctone.•' To-morrow evening their Inst exhibiti ,, n will tuke place. PENN INSURANCE COMPANY.
