LAWRENCE ♦ND lIENRICKSON. Nero Lebanon, Slate of New York. Wostrat FRlEND:—Having made a thorough trial of the Medicated Vayor Bath for fear months past, in oar societies in New Lebanon and Watervliet, we think it but justice to state, that we consider it a valuabie improvement in the healing art. Its power in reduc ing both chronic and acute inflamation, also in remov ing spasms, is certainly very great. In cases of ob structed perspiraticn, it is unquestionably the safest apd best remedy that we have ever seen. Several Tenons in our society. who were scarcely free from a catarrhal affection during most of the winter months for several years past, have found permanent relief by using the Bath a few times; and the predisposition to take cold, as it is commonly t'rmed, seems to be whol iy removed. Obstructed perspiration, is certainly in lour changeable climate, one of tha most fruitful sour ces of disease, and any remedy that. is capable of re mo'ring the predisposition to it, must be considered a great blessing te mankind; and as such we do not hesi tate to recommend the Medicated Vapot Bath. DUNCAN'S gliffigUCgatt.Egliti 1113ENE.D3Wir, FOR CONSUMPTION. COLDS, Coughs, Bronchitis, Asthma, Spitting of Blued. Diffn ulty of Breathing, Pain in the Side. 'Breast and Chest, Influenza, Whooping . Cough, Croup and all diseases of am Liver and LUNGS. Has now been before the puplic for severil 'years During which time its value has been tested by thou sands who were laboring under the numerous diseases' which have their origin in a common Catarrh or'Cold,' and which this medicine is designed to cure. The result of this trial has been to place "Dulicaii's Rerne: dy" at the head of the patent medicines of the day. EIT ITS OWN MERITS AND EXCLT.LENCE, it hns attained a popularity exceding that of any other' preparation. now offered to the public fur the preven tion and cure of that large and frightful class of diseas es which so frequently lead to. and terminate in CONSUMPTION, It is now offered to the afflicted with confidence as the 86ST preparation for Coughs, Colds, &c. extant. I We are warranted in assuming for it this high charge ter, by the proofs, which we are constantly receiving, of the invaluable benefits derived from its use. Tes timonials and recommendations of the strongest kind are constantly being received from all quarter, by the Proprietor and Agents. In relieving cases of Asthma, Difficulty in Breathing, Pain in the Side and Breast, it is unequalled; in cur ing Bronchitis, Coughs and Colds, and in short rems ing all tho symptoms of approaching Pulmonary Con sumption, - - ITS soccass HAS 116 FN UNPAVIALITLED. No other medicine has proved itself so really inval uable. Thousands in Pittsburgh and the vicinity, are. as far as human agency is concerned, indebted to Dr. Duncan's Expectorant Remedy fur prolonging life and health. Many persons after using the other cough medicines of the day without effect, have been com pletely restored by this truly GREAT DISCOVERY in the HEALING ART. A strong and undoubted evidenceof its worth, is to be found in the high degree of popular favor which it has received since its introduction into the West.— Wherever an agency has been opened for its sale, and wherever it has received a fair and honest trial, it has become firmly established as a STANDARD FAMILY MEDICINE. It is rapidly superseding the use of the many nos trums, which have so long imposed upon the communi ty, which have obtained their name only by puffing and braggadocia, and which are now destined to be thrown aside to make way for the best cough medicine of the present age. It is not pretended that it will positively cure every case of the disease, for which it is designed, but it is honestly believed that in every case where it gets a fair chance it will effect a cure. Coming, then, before the people with the highest recommendations, it is at least, worthy of a trial by all who are afflicted with any of that large and dangerous class of diseases. The following is a specimen of the numerous testi monials which we have received. It is from a PHY SICIAN of high standing in Ohio. Dear Sir—Having had occasion to witness the ef fect of Dr. Duncati's Expectorant Remedy on Mr Eli Young in a case of Pulmonary Consumption, 1 felt it my duty to make a brief statement in order that others that are or may be afflicted with the same complaint maybe benefited by the same remedy. He was attacked with inflammation in the left lobe of the lungs in March 1813, attended with acute pairs, I great difficulty of breathing, and a severe cough, which preceded rapidly to suppuration: and not withstanding the use and application of the best remedies prescribed by Jur authors, the complaint in a few days began tb exhibit evident symptoms of ulceration. In this distressing stage of the complaint, I bad re course to Dr Dancan's Expectorant Remedy fur con snmption, which bad the effect of checking the disease immediately, and in a few days the pain ceased, the breathing became free and easy, the cough left him, and the expectoration subsided, the consequences of which was that in using six bottles he has recovered his health, and is restored to his family. I do hereby certify the above to be true statement of my case as far as comes within my knowledge. OU ELI YNG. Mt Verson, May 28, 1844. In addition to other Stoves which he will have on band, he has obtained the right to manufacture and sell Hathaway's Patent Hot Air Cooking Stoves. This stove is pro nounced superior to any other now in use in the United States; it is more durable in its consttuction, and bet ter adapted to the use of baking, roasting and cooking, as it is heated very regularly by confuting the sir in the stove; and it is a great saving of fuel as well as labor. I will keep on hand a sufficient number to sup ply all demands if possible; I have five different sires, and will sell them on reasonable terms, according to sizes. I have now in use upwards of fifty in and about t this city; all put in use within six months. Being a ware that the People of Western Pennsylvania have been Imposed upon by the introduction of new and high ' ly recommended Stoves which were badly constructed, • and havirg soon failed and become useless. I will grant to persons wishing to procure the Hot Air Stove, the ' privilege of using its sufficient length of time to prove its superior quality' before I ask them to purchase. Persons notifying me from a distance by letter, can have stoves put lip at any time, as I have wagons to carry thorn csit; Z therefore invite Farmers and all per sons to come and judge for themselves; also to try them and prove that it is to your advantage to have one. Dos syss—Sir: I haven use one of Hath away's Hot Air Cooking Stoves, which I got from you last Spring. It affords me much pleasure to recom mend it for its excellence. So far es my knowledge extends, I have no hesitation in saving it is the best stove now in use. I need not particularize its merits, but would advise all disposed to possess an article of the kind, to adopt the best method of satisfying them selves, that is, to try it; and I doubt not they will be satisfied. D. R. MILLER. Waskington Temperance House, Pittsburgh, Sept. 19, 1844. Mr. R. Dossvoa—Sir.—l have had in use for five months, one of Hathaway's Hot Air Cooking Stoves, and I have no hesitation in saying it is the best stove now in use. The various kinds of cooking it. is cake hoed to do at the same time, and the small quantity of fuel required, makes it an object worthy the atten tion of all who desire a good stove. T HOM AS VARNER. M" I embrace this opportunity to recommend the Hot Air Cooking Stoves; I have used the one you put up for me constantly all summer, and I must say it is a grand article,. I believe it is superior to any other stove now in use in this city. The oven bakes well, and is large enough to bake four large loaves of bread at one time; it also cooks very speedity, and it require, very little coal, I think theta worthy the attention of all who wish a good stove; to such I would say, try them and prove what they are• oct t 1 ly MATHEW PATRIPIC.
