It is not generally known, but nevertheless true, that Drugs and spices Auld in the East, are lower in price than whole, of course the profit and cost of grinding must be made up by adulteration; dye woods ha're at least 15 per cent, and in some cases 25 par cent of water added to them. Now water, dust, cornmeal and flaxseed meal are plenty here, and we can eat them in their purity, if so it pleases us, without pay ing a pepper price with freight and premium added.
