[Ball. Sun. Laanity and Suicide - .—A young man by the name of Kulp, says the Buffalo Courier of the 19th inst., a bout 18 or 19 years of age, committed suicide yester day, by throwing himself into the Niagara river at Black Rock. Ho 'brul, been for some time infatuated with the Millerite delusion, an 1 for the lest two or hreo days so completely insane that it was found ne cessary to confine him in the house. By some moans yesterday he broke out and started off in the direction of Black Rock. -His father immediately missed and lititsued him, but found it impossible to overtake him %aura he reached the river, into which he instantly threw himself, and was drowned. The distance from the house to the river cannot be less than three and a half or four miles, and this whole distance he ran 'through the woods and fields, followed by his afflicted Maher Who vainly struggled to overtake him. A nother victim has thus been added to the list of lives lust through this absurd and miserable delusion. Three extensive packing houses, with slaughter ing establishments attached to each. capable of dress ing from 1500 to 2000 head of hogs, or 300 head of cattle per day, have just been commenced in St Louis and its vicinity. "to say that these establishments are capable of cutting and curing in the most improved manner. 60,000 head of hogs,.anti from 10 to 2000 head of cattle, in the usu•tl season for -cutting and curing meat. They are also prepared to smoke from 700,000 to 1,000,000 pounds of meat per mouth." There appeared to be but little competition at the sale, and was struck off to some gentlemen in New Jersey, supplied to represent large capitalists in other places, at a million of dollars.
