And by virtue 61 tho 19th section of the act of the second ofJoly, 1839, it was enacted that every person, excepting Justices of the Peace, who shall hold any office or appointment of profit or trust under the Gov ernment of the Uuited States, or of this State, or of any city, or incorporated district, whether a commis sioned officer or otherwise, a subordinite officer or agent, who is, or shall be employed under the Legisla tive, Executive, or Judiciary department of this State, or of the United States, or of eny city or incorporated district, and also that every member of Congress, and of the State Legislature, and of the Select or Common Council of soy city, or Commissioners of any incorpo- rated district, is by law incapable of holding or exer cising, at the same time, the office or appointment of Judge, Inspector, or Clerk of any election of this Commonwealth, and that no Inspector, Judge, or oth er officer of any such election shall be eligible to any office to be then voted for. Also, in and by the 4th section of an act approved the 10th of April, 1840, it is enacted—That the 13th section of the act passed July the 2d, 1839, entitled en act relating to the elections of this Commonwealth, shall not be so construed as to prevent any Militia Offi cer or Bor, nigh Officer, from serving as Judge, inspec tor or Clerk, lit any General or Spe ci al Election in this Commonwealth. And the several judges, inspectind clerks, who shall attend at the pr ceding election for members of Assembly, are required to attend end pelf .rm at the said election, the like duties and be subjeet to the like penalties, for neglect or misconduct as they shall be liable to at the election for members of Assembly. No 160, Liberty it. • Report of tke Committee of Cases submitted to tAe Medicated Vapor Bail', is IVastliegtoss City, THE Committee appointed to superinted the use of the Bath in this city conoeivo that the time is arrived when they ought to report more fully to the public what they have now learned from experience and observation of the real use and efficacy of the Bath. They will detail nothing but (Acts which have came within their own knowledge. Since the bath was opined it has been used by alleges from 7 years to 70 and we believe in all cases it has been useful but the most numerous class of cases in which it has af folded almost immediate relief and in some complete cure, are those of recent colds, theuniattsm, inflamed eyes, eruptions of the skits, scrofulous swellings, and general debility.
