A New BUSINESS DlataioaT.-4 1 1r. Isaac BAR atm, who has beets our city Historian, and published three Dkeetories of our city some years ago /. informs as, that a British Traveler called this week and bought two of his old Directories, and with many other Gen. Llama expressed his surprise that Pittsburgh has not ,yearly. or every two years at leak. a new directory. This hint, with the recommended° 3 of many gentlemen of business, induces Mr. Harris, provided he is proper ly and suitably encouraged, to go to work and publish early in July, a brief Business Directory, of Pittsburgh, Allegheny City, and the environs, to include alphabet ically and order arranged as in his last Directory, abs Banks, Insurance and Exchange offices, Officers and Directors—the Post Offices, Stages and Stage Roes, and River Trade offices; Law offices. Attornies at Law, Judges and Courts; the Churches and Minn ows of the Gospel—Public Schools and Seminaris ; 800k -stores, and Newspaper and Printing offices, and the business generally of the two cities and towns im mediately around—the Census, statistics of the Po. Ake of the two cities; Census and Government of the 11. States, and Pennsylvania, &c. &c., with a great amount of the most useful information for all classes of citizens. Mr. Harris proposes to do it well, in a neat Pamphlet form, at 25 cents a copy, and give Merchants, Manufacturers and Mechanics In' a asses to put in their Cards, at the same exua rates that he charged in his Directory of 1841 and '42. -To-morrow or early next week, a Gentleman will call personally on our citizens for their subscriptions and patrooage, and several gentlemen have already en couraged him to go ahead wilt his new work by sub scribing fora number of extra copies.
