't.--A large bOdy of rebel cavalry that moved around our left is now at Beam's ;tation on the Petersburg and Weldon railroad. Gen. Wilson's Third division of cavalry passed this place a few (lays ag en route for the Danville and Rich mond railroad. The rebels were too slow in their movements to 1 cad him off. Gen Wilson reached the road, de stroying many miles of track before he retraced his steps. lie met with no op position until be reached the point from which he started. All the track was «unposed of scrap iron' placed upon .wooden supports. A locoinotive and a train were surprised at one station and before the engine conld move off all were in the hands of our men. The cars were crowded with refugees from Peters burg. All the can with the locomotive were destroyed. Gen. Isleade's headquarters with itnelligence of Wilson's awkward position, the sixth corps being on the ex treme left and nearest the scene of strife, was instantly dispatched there to divert the attention of the rebels.
