McKeown and Kirk at Lawrenceville, and although the day was:very cold and stormy, and not at all suitable for rambling, yet we were much pleased as well as edified by the visit. The buildings in this part of the town are new, and some of than large and well built, though as yet, there Is no regularly in their construction, and the yards are encumbered with old lumber, bar rels, and pieces of Machinery. This though is to be expected of all yew manufacturing places. hl r. Wm. Sproull, the refiner at Mr. ItlcKeown's establishinenti(howed us around the refinery and gave some information which may be isiteresting. The buildings consist of a ware house, refinery and pumphouse. At this place there is 250 bar rels of refined oil turned out per week. The re fining building is three stories high. The capa city of the two receivers of etude oil is 500 bar rels, 250 each, and that of the still house tank 2100 barrels. Great complaints have heretofore been made about the barrels leaking. This is now altogether ofiricoool by the insole of the barrel being well drenched with cement, a pre paration made of glue. The refiner at the estab., Ilshnient of Mr. Kirk showed nie the pump by let. Ward, Pittsburgh, W S. 'McGinn, 'l'.
