We call the attention of al/ having relations or
friends in tne army to the foot that -HOOF

of the diseases induced by exposures and priva

of that kind can be readily cured by Hoofland's

these Bitters were freely used among our soldiers
hundreds of lives might be saved, that otherwise

The Union-Central Committee .of some

consequence of that call, Howard, Mont.

to the convention. St. Mary's. Charles,
Calvert, Anne Arundel, and Baltimore

county cony rlions, in accordance with
universal cl otn, bat, in reality, entirely
ignored the existence of the convention,
so far as the voice of the people of these
counties are concerned.
When, however, the convention assem*

!and claimed to'represent St. Mary's Anne

still unrepresented Charles and Caivert

to Mr. G. W. Laughlitee being permitted
to represent Anne Arundel county, as he

the county, notwithstanding the parties
who allowed, advised and assisted him in
doing so, knew he had no authortity what.

that he came there on different business
entirely.
On his return to Anne Arundel county,
he was called on by certain prominent
gentlemen of the Union party to ascertain

said : "I had no authority from any con

Places are appointed to the convives at
the negroe's convenience or caprice. No

his social propensities may be, the Ameri
