That in view of the greatly in creased expense of living, we respectfully request that a proportionate increase of our salaries for the current year be made. These propositions were discussed at considerable length, and on motion of p. G. Bradford, the action of the Board of Control was so far modified as to permit the teachers of each ward to form an Insti tute by themselves, in their own proper school building. That part of the petition relating to an increase of salaries was referred to the Committee on Teachers and Salaries and the Finance Committee, to report at next meeting.
