Notwithstanding the number of recruits enrolled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the spirit on Friday seemed un abated, and many companies received largo accessions. All the nine months companies being filled, or nearly so, the three years companies were besieged with applications, and several of these run up to the maximum. lithe present excite meat continues, it will not be long until enough men are enrolled to fill oir quota under the second call for :100,000 men, without a draft. Then let there be no hanging back. Let every man come for and do his duty in the manner in which he can best serve his country. kite mustering officer had his hands full in mustering into the service companies which had previously been sworn in, pass ed the surgeon's examination and received their bounty. Miller. Sumner Infantry, Capt. E. .1. Seibert. On Friday morning, the Executive Com mittee had provided transportation for one thousand nine months men, to be sent to Harrisburg, but, probably owing i o great rush of troops to the State Capital, 11.1 I order was received from Adjumnt Gen eral Russell, ordering all troops raised in this county and vicinity to be placed for the present in the camp of instruction here, the command of which has been assigned to Capt. L. W. Smith, late of the Pitts burgu Rifles, at the suggestion of the cows i !lee. This order came rather unexpee. as it Nvai supposed, up to yesterday, that all the nine mouths men would b, forwarded to Harrisburg us tact as com panies were urganiied, consequently the camp was being prepared by Major A. Montgomery, 1 7 . S. Quartermaster, tbr three years men, and was not ready for use, with little probability of its being fit fur occupancy before Monday or Tuesday next. Under these circumstances, officers will be compelled to subsist their compa nies in the city upon the forty cents per day allowed by law, until the camp is ready. Meanwhile, work on the quarters there is being rapidly pushed forward, and tents are being procured from Barrisburg. Going into camp here will be a serious in con venieuce and a great disappointment to companies front abroad, but it is the best that can be done now; they must wait patently until they - cart be sent for ward. The new camp is called "Camp Howe," in honor of Hon, Thus. M. Howe, whose exertions fully entitle him to the honor. During Friday morning, Capt. Loyd, from Turentum, brought down one hun- dred and fifty-five men. In the afternoon, three fall companies arrived from Butler, in fifty wagons and carriages. They were all in fine spirits, having partaken of a splendid dinner set out for them on the hilt near Bakerstown, while en route in the morning. 4 bil, toiou of 230 men arrived from New Castle on Thursday evening, and passed East by the next train. A correspondent informs us that, on the 4th inst., a great war meeting was held in Eiizabeth borough, the largest during the past two years. He says: "These young men have left their homes, good work, and gone out.to fight for and protect the lazy cowards who are lying at home, making all sorts of sport of their movements, and these are the very ones who ought to be drafted. Thank God, there are some more of the same sort left, who will leave in a few days." Fultonßilles. By au advertisement in to-day's Post it will be seen that our fellow-citizen, S. M. A military meeting will be held at Bridge ville, on Monday evening, at half-past four o'clock, at the hotel of Mr. Boyd. A rousing meeting is expected, as everybody is awake to the present demand made of them. The meeting will be addrased by Rev. Marshall, Jegery, Braddock and Iltev..J. / I . oll sarktelliatisatei,- - One of the peculiar episodel - olthit; un- I precedented war is the singular spectacle of a minister of the Gospel taking the field as captain, with nearly all of the young men of his congregation and some of the old and middle aged all as members of his company. Yet even more singular is the effect of example in this case, resulting in the organization, in three days, Ofas many companies for the service of the country. The first meeting for the organization of a company wa s. held on Tuesda evening in the lecture room of the Sec y ond U. P. Church, Allegheny; of which Mr. Clark is pastor. By Wednesday the company was full and it was determined to organize a second, which milt filled up by Friday morning, with a surplus of thirty. This formed the nucleus of a third company which was nearlyfull last evening, and will probably be ready to go into camp to-day. The two companies first raised are already mustered in. The second company is called the McCandless Infantry in honor of Jas. McCandless ! Esq., of Wood street) and is officered thus: Captain. Dr. D. Boisolt First Lieutenant, R. C. Dale; -Second Lieutenant, H. H. Woodburn. Hon. Simon Drum, Mayor of Allegheny, takes command of Co. C, with his High Constable, Saru'l Long, an experienced soldier, as First Lieutenant. On Friday evening there was a full meet - - ing of Mr. (Ark's congregation. :Severe, addresses were delivered, and the follow ing, reported by a committee, was unani mously adopted, and the editors of the city papers requested to publish it: • WHEREAS, It has pleased God in His good Providence to place the American people under most extraordinary respon sibilities, and to call them to the perform ance of strange duties, a revolution of fearful magnitude, unprovoked, uncalled for, and ut:erl- unjustifiable, threatens our very existence as a nation, and which, if not suppressed, will Whelm our country in remediless ruin and quench all civil and religious liberty in the land. Our rebel enemies have taken the sword, and by the sword alone can they be met and van quished. This great necessity sanctities us use; and we not only believe that good men are justified in taking it, but that to do so is their highest duty as cithtens, pa triots and Christians therefore Resolved, That the act of our beloved pastor, Hey.
