Sr. Louis, July 23--A merchant of Frederickstown arrived here, report's a desperate fight with guerrillas at Gr;,en ville, Wayne connty. Two companies of State militia, stationed at that place under Capt. Leeper, were surprised by a band of guerrillas under one Reeves. The _ attack was made at daylight and was sud&it and fierce, no pickets being out to apprise our men of the approach of tne enemy. Capt. Leeper and eighteen of his men were reported killed and a large number wounded. The rebel loss is not known. The rebels took possession of the town. WASHINGTON, July 23.—Recording to the army order just published for volun teer t eernits for old regiments, there will be paid a premium of three dollars,and fur those entering new regiments a premium of two dollars. The premium may be paid either to the person furnishing the recruit or to 'the recruit in person; in case he pre sents himself. The month's pay in advance for regular and volunteer recruits will be paid under such regulation as the Paymas ter General may establish.
