JRUCia, MXDICINES, C —To our friends in Allegheny and the renders of the Poet generally, we take great pleasure in recom mending the welt appointed drub store of GOO. A. Bare no one can fail to lied what he wants at a reasonable price. Mr. Kelly and his clerks are pulite and atten tive and take great pains to furniah exactly what is required and only the best. AT Ess OLD BUSINESS.—By reference to his card it will be seen that Mr. Thomas Farley, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of our county, has again embarked in his old business, the manufacture of furniture and chairs, and he would be pleased to see his old friends and customers, as well as new ones, at No. 164 Federal street, Allegheny. He is also prepared for a general undertaking business and will give prompt attention to all orders left at his wareroom or Floyd's livery stable. The character of Mr. Farley's work is well known and he will find a ready sale for all lie can make. RECA I.LED.—Major Ripley has in structed Major Symington, command ant of the Arsenal, to have the arms furnished to the Committee of Home Defence for arming the Home tl [lards, inspected, with a view of ascertaining what proportion of the same are suited for the use of the volunteers in actual service. I%e think the government will hardly want our old flint locks, but there are eight or nine hundred rifl^s, a splendid weapon, which could be most effectively employed loam , TJ DaA.Tu..—The Indiana _Ales. senger says: Wo regret to learn that Mrs. Neff, wife of John Neff, formerly of Plumville, this county, but now in the oil regions, Venango county, was so severely burned a few weeks ago, as to cause bor death shortly after the accident occurred. Mr. Neff, it seems, had kindled a fire in the stove and left a carbon oil lamp thereon; Mrs. Neff on repairing to the kitchen, attempted to remove the lamp from the stove; which being hot, fell from her hands and broke; lire was communicat ed to the oil, and afterwards to the clothes of the unfortunate woman, burning her to such an extent as to cause her death as above stated. WE BEE in GiMaple's window one of Blythe's inimitable camp sketches, rep. resenting the interior of Lieut. Foster's quarters.in camp durim , b the three months campaign, with Col. Rowley, Capt. Galla. gher and Blythe himself as guests. Lieut. F. is acting commissariat, with a keg of lager; Col. Rowley's portly form almost obstructs the entrance and the "Roman father;" in full regimentals, occupies the centre of the apartment, apparently testing the effects of light on a suspicious -look ing black bottle Blythe looks on quietly and a fifth head peeps from under the bunk clothing. The picture is a capital one, the likenesses striking and the whole ludicrous in the extreme. The picture mill attract very general attention ERNER GREY:i. —Young men who de sire to serve their country aro requested to read the advertisement of Captain J. S. Moore, of the Verner Greys. Capt. Moore has' een an officer of the Duquesne Greys for the past five years, and we have no doubt, will make an efficient officer. By the way, the Second Regiment of Rifles (Home Guard) ought to turn out and raise a company for Captain Moore, as he is the Colonel of that Regiment. Let some of the prothinent members of this regiment take the matter in hand and raise him a company in double-quick. Aid /rum the plot and acting, the tableaux are alone worth the price of admission. Those in the first act, the Birth of Freedom, and Disruption of the Union, are well con. ceived and admirably carried into effect, especially the latter. Pratt Street, Balti more, is well represented, and the attack on the Massachusetts regiment is well de picted. In the third act the Death of Ella worth is represented in a fine tableaux, original with Mr. Henderson, while the closing scenes, the Battle of Bull Run, are full of exciting incidents. The bombard ment of Sumter, at the close of the first act, is excellent, and elicits continued ap• plause. No Wunder the piece is a success, as it is brim full of patriotism, and keeps the attention of the spectator riveted throulhout. It will be played for a few nights more, and we advise all to see it.
