Working Men's Convention.
This convention met, yesterday afternoon, at 2
o'clock, at Wilkins Hall. It was organized by
calling Mr. H. K. It. D mare to the chair, and art.
pointing Meson. Kinkead and Williams as Sacra
lutes.
A motion was made and carried that the report•
ere for the preen present, be invited to teats at
the table.
The list of delegates from the different trades
was then celled over, and the members, on an•
swer,ng their names, were admitted to their mats.
The following trades were included in ibis list,
ni: Tailors, Ladies,Shoe Makers, Turners, and
Copper Smiths, Paddlers and Boikn, Printers,
Saddlers and Harness Makers, Count Makers,
and Chair Makers.
A motion was carried that all persons present
belonging to trades not represebted by regularly
appointed delegates, should be admitted no stema
beer upon presenting their names.
Several gentlemen then presented their names
as representing the trades of Watch Makers,
Blacksmiths, House Carpenters, Pattern Makers
and Boot Milker.
A committee of delegate., Imus Elizabeth Bor
ough presented their credentials, and, were ad.
milted to mate.
Oa motion, a committee Was appointed, con
sisting of one member from each branch repre
rented,to report a permanent form of organization

The first section authorizes the City Trensorex
sod the Chairman of the Finance Committee for

by this ordinance, to purchase the funded debt of
the city, as bonds, convinces of lino, dec., marked
"Sinking Fund" and not to be re..issued.
The second section appropriates the IVIMEIO.II
derived from the" Business Tar," to the Sinking

yen. It also aprrelnistes the CorAtion Tax of
5 mills on the dollar, and lurch other services as
