Trial of a safe In Cincinnati, o.—We, the undersign•
ed were present at the teeing of one of I El Strickler.!
Co's Improved Phi:anis fire-proof safes. The safe was
placed in a furnace on the public landing and subjected
to the intense heat of a stone coal fire for •mora than
three boars. In one hour and a half the safe Caine to
a bright red heat; the door of the furnace woo then
closed, whiith caused an increased and steady beat for
the balance of the time, until the cast iron wheels were
partially melted oPi the furnace was then thrown down
and the safe cooled and opened. The money, panen
and books which it contained were as perfect as when
placed there, the binding only of the books being in
ored by the water in cooling the safe. We have an
vitation in recommending it to the public as a cafe
superior to any we have ever seen tested, and believe
that it will stand any heat which might be produced,
scent a heat which would melt It to a solid man.
